High heels in the form of stilettos first became popular in the Thirties, but while heels used to be largely 'special occasion' wear, thanks to the success of shows such as Sex And The City they have become de rigueur for every day.

One in ten women wears them at least three days a week, and a recent survey found a third had hurt themselves falling while wearing high heels. There are other consequences, as consultant podiatric surgeon Mike O'Neill, spokesman for the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists, explains: 'High heels make you raise your heel and as soon as you do that your centre of gravity is pushed forward.

It is Time Nigerians Decides the Terms of Our Coexistence!!'' - Etcetera

On this special Saturday occassion, our famous writer "Etcetera" is back with his articles. This time he writes about the Igbos been relegated to a lower edge. Do read and Enjoy...

The Igbos are the wandering Jews of West Africa… gifted, aggressive, Westernised; at best envied and resented, but mostly despised by the mass of their neighbours in the federation – Henry Kessinger (famous American diplomat). Before we talk about the plight of the Igbos in Nigeria, let us start by defining a word that has been frequently used by the Igbos to define their situation in the country, "marginalisation"! According to a good number of dictionaries, to “marginalise” means “to treat someone or something as if they are unimportant.” It also means “to take or keep
somebody away from the centre of action.” Another dictionary defined it as “relegating someone or a group of people to a lower or outer edge of a community or society.”
