Orubebe Denies Involvement in Plot to Kidnap Jega - "So Shocking To Hear.. He Says''


The former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, has denied being a part in the alleged plot to kidnap the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega at the presidential results collation centre in Abuja.

Reports had claimed that Orubebe’s protest against the abandonment of his petition against underage voting in the North among other complaints against Prof Attahiru Jega was a deliberate action by him to cause confusion at the presidential result collation centre to pave way for Jega’s abduction and trigger national violence.

Ex Militants Become Lawmakers in Rivers State


Some of the horrific Niger Delta militants, who accepted the Federal Government’s Amnesty, have been elected into the Rivers State House of Assembly, The late President Musa Yar’Adua had in 2009 signed a annunciation granting Amnesty to Niger Delta militants, who agreed to lay down their arms and embrace peace.

The deal offered an unconditional pardon and cash payments to fighters who surrendered their arms and assembled at screening centers located in many parts of the oil-rich region within 60 days.
It targeted up to 10,000 militants whose attacks in the six Niger Delta states cost the country a third of its oil production and revenue to be incured.

BREAKING NEWS !!! Taraba State Elections Declared Inconclusive


Prof Muhamdu Kyari, the Taraba state returning officer for governorship election  has declare the governorship election in Taraba as inconclusive. This declaration was made after collation of result from sixteen out of the seventeen local government areas was made in Jalingo, Taraba state capital.

To him, he made the declaration has reason so obviously and not far fetched from the collation of result. Muhamdu made it know that the number of cancelled votes was above the gap between APC who came second in the election to PDP who came first.

INEC Declares Ibikunle Amosun Winner Of Ogun Governorship Election


The Independent National Electoral Commision (INEC) has declared the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State who also doubles as the State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun as the winner of yesterday, 11th of April, 2015 Governorship election in the State.

Amosun who has the largest number of votes defeated Gboyega Isiaka of PDP and other Governorship aspirants. Amosun had a total of 306,988 votes, while Gboyega Isiaka had, 201,440 votes, SDP’s Akin Odunsi came 3rd with 25,826.

For those who care, it will also interest you that APC won flawlessly at former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s ward.

PHOTO: Underage Voter Causes a Fight among Party Agents in Keffi


A minor who showed up at the Kofar Pada polling unit in front of the Emir palace in Keffi, Nasarawa State, stirred up a heated argument between agents of political parties participating in today’s governorship and state assembly elections, leading to rough-and-tumble.

The boy of about 12 years whose name (Daily Trust) decided not to disclose, divided opinion among agents of the PDP, APC, and APGA as well as Accord party, Shehu Kassim Yamusa, Auwal Shauibu,, Monday Yohanna, and Yusuf Shuaibu, respectively, leading to a shouting match before security personnel, polling officers, and an European observers team.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has received reports that some political leaders are asking members of the public to disregard its stated resolve to use Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and Smart Card Readers (SCRs) for the April 11, 2015 Governorship and State Assembly elections.

A particular state governor in the North Central geo-political zone has being reported to have assured voters in the state that they could come out to vote on Election Day with Temporary Voter Cards (TVCs) if they do not have the PVC, and that INEC will not be allowed to insist on the use of SCRs for voter accreditation.

INEC Insists That Card Readers Alone Will Be Used For Governorship & House of Assembly Elections On Saturday

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that only Card Readers would be used for Saturday’s governorship and house of assembly elections across the country for transparency sake. This was made known this morning by the Secretary to the commission, Augusta Ogakwu in a statement released earlier today.

“The Independent National Electoral Commission wishes to inform all Nigerians that Card Readers will be used for the April 11, 2015 Elections.

“The provision of the Guidelines for the conduct of the 2015 General Elections which outlined what is to be done if a Card Reader fails and cannot be replaced by the Commission within a specified time frame (i.e. Reschedule the election to the next day) will be enforced.

"I Will Be Leaving Office in June.. I No Longer Have Interest Continuing as INEC Chairman" - Attahiru Jega


Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega has refused to continue any further in his office, says he will be leaving office in June this year when his tenure as Chairman of the electoral body ends.

In a brief interview with BBC Hausa, Professor Jega said even if he is asked to continue in office, he will refuse. See his very words after the cut...

INEC: Prof. Jega Officially Declares Buhari Winner of The 2015 Presidential Election


After a long awaited response from the INEC chairman, He finally declares the winner of the just concluded elections in the early hours into the month of April (1st April, 2015). So i wish you all (Duisaf's Blog Readers),,, A Happy New Month!!!

Come May 29, 2015, Nigeria will be having a new president in the person of "Gen. Mohammed Buhari".

INEC chairman Prof. Jega just declared him winner of the 2015 presidential election having certified the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes in the election. Congrats Nigeria for a peaceful; free and fair enough 2015 election. God bless President Jonathan for his concession. God bless our country Nigeria!

President Jonathan Calls To Congratulate Buhari


INEC has gone on another break and the commission will reconvene around 8pm to give the result of Borno State. Meanwhile TVC just reported that President Jonathan has called Muhammadu Buhari to congratulate him on ‘his' victory. Chude Jideonwo who also works for Buhari has also confirmed it.
We however await the final result by INEC. It's past 8pm and we really can't wait!

Well, the latest we have recieved concerning the election is that "Goodluck Ebele Jonathan" has gotten reach to "General Buhari" on the phone congratulating him over the fore-seen victory of the election. this already has shown a clear and mature way of acceptance of the defeat there-in.

There was a drama today at the collation centre when a PDP agent "Godsday Orubeb" by name tried to distrupt the progress of the INEC result announcement BY causing a scene.

Agent Godsday Orubebe is the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, which makes his act at the collaction centre a very shamful one. However, wise action was done leaving him to finish his demonstration before the comission continued if not would have done more havoc. We have the video beneath after the cut...

Presidential Election Results: Taking Count... 9 States Down, PDP in Early Lead


The result of 8 states has been announced by INEC together with that of the FCT, Abuja. In the 9 states announced so far PDP tend to take the lead with 2,332,734 votes while APC has 2,302,978 votes, though APC won five states and PDP four states.

Other states are to be awaited. So, The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is to meet again for the rest of the result by 8pm tonight in order to allow sufficient time for other states to bring in their results. The states with awaiting results are 27 in number

GRAPHIC PHOTOS: Man Shot Dead as Violence Breaks Out at INEC Office in Bauchi


The man in the photo above was allegedly shot dead by a soldier this morning at Bauchi's INEC Office after the military tried to gain access into the office. Residents of the state had blocked the military from entering the office as results were being collated and this resulted into violence.

The residents waited all day outside the INEC office to await the announcement of last Saturday's election when the military showed up. Another man was hit by a stray bullet. See photos to this after the cut...

INEC To Release Results Of The 2015 Nigerian Presidential Election On Monday, March 30 – Jega


As we all prepare for the result of the electoral poll exercise carried out yesterday and today inclusive, keep in mind that INEC promises to release the result of the election on Monday 30th of March, 2015.

This was announced by INEC chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega during a press briefing in Abuja. He also said people can find out the result of the election in their polling units as long as they remain calm and available during the electoral count at the each poll unit after the exercise. This will likely allow the result never to be altered.

Female INEC Official and Okadaman Dies in Fatal Road Accident in Benue


An appointed female staff of INEC died in a fatal bike accident this morning March 28th along Obussa-Ebonyi road, in Oju local government area of Benue state.

 Vanguard has it that the Okada man also lost his life. The INEC staff was on her way to Oju town where she was posted for election duties..

PANIC: The INEC Offical Site Has Been Hacked!!


The official website of the Independent National electoral Commission “INEC” (www.inecnigeria.org) has been hacked.

The photo shown above is the notice display that will come up on the homepage of the site if tried to reach. However, INEC promises that the hacking will not affect the electoral process.
INEC says data captured via the Electoral PVC Card Reader are not going to the website but rather the INEC server and so, Nigerians have nothing to be scared of. Kayode Idowu, CPS to INEC chairman says.
