LASU Announces Compulsory Break For Staff and Students Ahead of Saturday's Election,


Below is a press statement from the management of Lagos state University announcing a compulsory break for all staff and students starting from today March 23rd.

In view of the forth-approaching national and state elections scheduled for March 28th and April 11th respectively, the university management of Lagos State University has declared a pause of academic activities for both staff and students with effect from Monday 23rd March, 2015. Students and staff are therefore advised to vacate the campus immediately. The date of resumption will be announced in further date, so those concerned should stay glued to the news on the media. This is the annoucement as passed by the management of the school and was likewise signed.

HURRAY!! Nigeria Wins The African U-20 Championship For The Seventh Time


The resilient Flying Eagles seek a seventh African Youth Championship title in Dakar and of-course have no regret, because they have done Nigeria and the whole of Africa proud by winning the Championship.

This much awaited clash was unveiled as the stage was set for six-time Africa U20 champions, Nigeria and hosts, Senegal to battle it out in the final of the 20th African Youth Championship at the Senegalese football cathedral - the Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor in Dakar.

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State have been attacked over the weekend by armed men. Some were attacked on Friday during a peaceful rally at Wike’s ward with one man having his head almost cut into two and another badly injured.

 The President being the PDP Presidential candidate, candidate of KOWA party in person of "Remi Sonaiya", UPP's candidate "Chekwas Okorie", UDP's candidate "Godson Okoye" and NCP's candidate "Martin Onovo" made the debate an occassion. HORROR: 25-Year Old Man Beheads VIO Officer In Ekiti State


A man by the name Wale Ede was yesterday arrested over an alleged crime of beheading a 50-year-old Vechicle Inspector Officer (VIO), Joshua Fagbola.


Fagbola, a patrol assistant with the Directorate of Road Traffic Service, otherwise known as the Vehicle Inspection Officer, in Ado Ekiti is a father of seven, meeting his untimely death at the wake of a relative on Friday at about 8pm in the Iro quarters of Iyin Ekiti State.

It was learnt that Ede attacked Fagbola when he was about to start the engine of his motorbike and leave the venue of the aftermath.

Moments ofsadness struck in the Ajegunle, Apapa area of Lagos State, after a 20-year-old woman, Gift Wahab, stabbed her lover, Ebi Amade, 28, to death. The incident occurred at the couple’s residence on Fasasi Street, Ajegunle, Apapa, on Thursday, March 19.

After several interrogation, it was discovered that the Gift who hailed from Uromi, Edo State, had been living with Ebi since 2013, after she dropped out of secondary school. Ebi hailed from Bayelsa State. The two reportedly had a kid in 2014, who passed away in December after a brief sickness.

It was further learnt that the couple had gone on an outing on Thursday when an argument came-up in the afternoon over feeding money.
