LASU Announces Compulsory Break For Staff and Students Ahead of Saturday's Election,


Below is a press statement from the management of Lagos state University announcing a compulsory break for all staff and students starting from today March 23rd.

In view of the forth-approaching national and state elections scheduled for March 28th and April 11th respectively, the university management of Lagos State University has declared a pause of academic activities for both staff and students with effect from Monday 23rd March, 2015. Students and staff are therefore advised to vacate the campus immediately. The date of resumption will be announced in further date, so those concerned should stay glued to the news on the media. This is the annoucement as passed by the management of the school and was likewise signed.

PHOTOS: Former Speaker Patricia Etteh Graduates from Buckingham University


Retired Hon. Patricia Etteh, Nigeria’s first female Speaker of the House of Representatives, was at a time accused of attempting to steal, tagged an ‘illiterate hair dresser and all sort,’ but today, she is a proud Law graduate from Buckingham University. Here is she rejoicefully cutting a cake at her graduation party yesterday. "You like? smiles.."

Mrs. Etteh was evicted from her leadership position in the House of Representatives during a blistering scandal in October, 2007. Barely four months after she was ‘consentiently’ voted into leadership of the House, her colleagues turned on her and demanded that she step down from her 
exalted position following accusations of corruption within her office.

PHOTOS: Tiwa Savage Visits Uganda School, Talks About Unsafe Abortions and Teenage Pregnancy


As known to the public... The heavy Tiwa Savage is presently in Uganda. Well, she recently stopped by in Mariam High School in Kampala, Uganda as part of a one week online campaign tailored to create awareness on teenage pregnancy.

According to the "Reach a Hand" foundation in Uganda – one of the hosts of the 1 week campaign every year about 3 million girls aged 15 to 19 undergo unsafe abortions, and that is the reason why they felt a need to touch on the subject with the young; expecially the girls through a cultural icon they can connect with.

To the concluding part of our talk on Parental Influence on Young minds is discussion that reflects the corrective measure and mandate of parents that have hope of a future for their children or child; as the case may be. 

In our last discussion, talking about INFORMAL TRAINING of a child, we mentioned that a child/children who finds it so difficult to help or assist their parents… has gone wayward and all these are happening because some people failed in their responsibilities; especially the parents that aren’t there for their children.

ASUP to Commence Indefinite Nationwide Strike over HND/BSC Superiority


The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), have threatened to embark on an indefinite strike on Wednesday 25th February, if government fails to meet their demands. President of the Union, Mr Chibuzor Asomugha told journalists during a press briefing in Abuja that government has not implemented any of their demands since the suspension of the last strike they embarked upon by the Union in July last year. 

ASUP is aggrieved over the dichotomy that exists in the way Polytechnic and University graduates are treated in the labour market; polytechnic products being a victim of discrimination and poor attention.

Hope you enjoy our last session? Welcome to another week yet on PARENTIAL INFLUENCE ON YOUNG MINDS but we shall be focusing more today about TRAINING THE CHILD, lets hit the nail in the head and face frankly issues that may MAKE or MAR the lives of our children.

It was made known in our last discussion that youths can be trained to put their strength into use for God, men; which can be their parents or generally for generations to come. Talking about training, there are two types of training that can be given to a child; “the formal and informal training”.

Covenant University May Reduce Tuition Fees Soon... Says "VC"

The Vice-Chancellor, Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, Prof. Charles Ayo, has given a slight indication that the school may likely reduce its tuition fees in a bid to accommodate more students who will want to benefit from the quality education it offers.

Addressing a news conference on Friday over the school’s recent Web based ranking as the first in Nigeria and West Africa and the 15th in Africa, he said even though there is no actual date for the likely review yet, but this opening move would make admission into the school more affordable and competitive.
