Nigeria Presidential Debate Confirmed to Hold For February 3, 2015

The presidential debate is scheduled for February 3, 2015, Tuesday, at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. It is initiated by and ARISE Television and Channels TV. The Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN) will be presented by THISDAY and Guardian Newspapers Limited.

Such occasions as this gives room for transparency of content; like an adage says "you can't give what you don't have". In the letter dated January 11, 2015 to both candidates says "Our nation is at its strongest when our elected leaders are accessible and accountable to its citizens, explaining decisions and answering tough questions. That standard of openness and transparency must start long before Election Day on February 14, 2015,” 

BREAKING NEWS: Twitter Suspends Boko Haram’s Recently Opened Account

Social networking website, Twitter, has suspended Boko Haram's account on their website, which was less than a week after it was opened. The  Twitter handle, Alurwa Alwuthqa, was registered last week in a manner as that of the Middle East insurgency group, Islamic State (IS). One of the sect’s first activities on the newly opened account was to announce its capture of Monguno and display pictures of child jihadists. Pictured above is the error message you will see when you search for "Alurwa_Alwuthqa" on the "Twitter" social networking site.

Iran Offers Military Support to Help Nigeria Fight Boko-Haram

The Iran government on Saturday announced plans to assist Nigeria and other African countries in the course of fighting against the Boko Haram sect, as their way of contribution for global peace.

The country’s Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister, Amir Hossein Abdollohian made the announcement while addressing the press on Saturday as part of the ongoing 24th Assembly of the African Union Heads of State and Government in "Addis-Ababa".
