Results to the presidential election has just began, with the INEC chairman on seat ready to make known to the world results to the election as voted on saturday and sunday.

PHOTOS: Protest in Enugu State Over Election Result Announcement


Aggressive APC members feeling so sorrowful for in the sight infrigement in regards the announced votes result in Enugu. They all took to the street this everning to protest the outcome of the presidential election in the state. PDP won with 553,003 votes while the APC won 14, 157 votes.

ELECTION UPDATE: David Mark Wins Senate Ticket For 5th Term


Senate President David Mark has again grabbed the Senate ticket for the Benue South Senatorial District in the National Assembly. This will be David Mark’s 5th term in the house.

Meanwhile, Governor Aliyu Wammakko of Sokoto State(APC); his Plateau State counterpart, Jonah Jang(PDP); Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji(PDP); and Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State(APC), have won their Senatorial election to represent their respective zones in their states.

Presidential Election Results: Taking Count... 9 States Down, PDP in Early Lead


The result of 8 states has been announced by INEC together with that of the FCT, Abuja. In the 9 states announced so far PDP tend to take the lead with 2,332,734 votes while APC has 2,302,978 votes, though APC won five states and PDP four states.

Other states are to be awaited. So, The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is to meet again for the rest of the result by 8pm tonight in order to allow sufficient time for other states to bring in their results. The states with awaiting results are 27 in number

GRAPHIC PHOTOS: Man Shot Dead as Violence Breaks Out at INEC Office in Bauchi


The man in the photo above was allegedly shot dead by a soldier this morning at Bauchi's INEC Office after the military tried to gain access into the office. Residents of the state had blocked the military from entering the office as results were being collated and this resulted into violence.

The residents waited all day outside the INEC office to await the announcement of last Saturday's election when the military showed up. Another man was hit by a stray bullet. See photos to this after the cut...

PHOTOS: People of Bauchi State Defy Gov Yuguda's Curfew, Storm INEC Office to Protect their Votes


According to reports from Bauchi state, some crowd have right now stormed the state's INEC headquarters despite a 24 hour curfew imposed by the state government.

Governor Isa Yuguda had warned residents to stay indoors, declaring that any body found wanting must face the wrath of the law. The government said that the measure was to prevent an escalation of attacks after Nigerian troops engaged gunmen in fierce fighting in  Dungulbe village, 7kms from Bauchi State Capital.

Four-year-old Boy and Sister Burnt to Death in Lagos Fire


Disaster rocks Lekki as a four-year-old boy, identified as Paul, and his sister, 1 year old , have been burnt to death after fire gutted a bungalow in the Igbo-Efon, Lekki area of Lagos State.

The incident happened around 5am on Saturday. PUNCH Metro was fed that the fire began from a cooking stove which exploded in the bungalow where the victims lived with their parents. The inferno was said to have quickly spread and torched the room where the children were.

The mother of the children fled the area and called for help, but the children could not be saved as the strenght of the fire rapidly over powered them..

''This Presidential, National Assembly Elections is Most Cruel Ever'' - Soyinka


Nobel Laureate and play wright, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has described the presidential and National Assembly elections as the most cruel, unprincipled and violent he had ever witnessed. In an interview with the GuardianUK in Lagos on Sunday, the 80-year-old former political prisoner railed against what is thought to have been the most expensive election in African history:

“We’re talking about a very positive response by the public in terms of determination to register and vote but, you know, this has been one of the most vicious, unprincipled, vulgar and violent election exercises I have ever witnessed. I just hope we won’t go down as being the incorrigible giant of Africa.”

Police Recover N9m from Dead Armed Robbers who Raided Owo Banks


As record has it, the robbery that took place at Ondo state claimed lives and alot of money too but with the info we gathered, the police in the state who has recovered N9 million already from 6 of the armed robbers who died in the process of several gunshot battle.

Two police women and four others, including an ASP and seven civilians were killed by the robbers who stormed the banks at about 4pm last Friday. Also shot dead by the robbers were a bank manager and his deputy who reportedly refused to cooperate with them on arrival at the bank.
