THE FAMILY EARNEST PURSUE: Maximizing Your Singleness - Part One

To "maximize" simply means to increase one’s position to the optimum level possible, in other wards to make the best use of one’s singleness.

The second word that is of importance is "singleness". This is a period that signifies you as a bachelor or a spinster (i.e) someone who is yet to get married. It is essentially good to maximize our singleness because of the importance of that period in a man’s life. God has never made any mistake creating man and the different periods of his development.

British Airways Flight Got Aborted Just Minutes After Take-Off... Guess Why?

A British Airways flight was forced to return back to England because of a 'smelly poo' left in a toilet. A town councillor in Herftordshire "Councillor Abhishek Sachdev", took to his twitter handle to share the story. He said he was on the BA flight to Dubai when it was forced to return to Heathrow.

It is understood that cabin crew unsuccessfully tried to fix the problem, but the flight was forced to turn around when the odour became unbearable for passengers. See his tweet and details of how it really happened below after the cut:

''My Husband Must Complete his Two Terms'' – Mrs. Jonathan

The wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, on Saturday insisted that her husband would remain in office for eight years to complete his two terms in office, no matter the opposition. 

PUNCH reports that Mrs. Jonathan, said this during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) women rally, under the endosement of the "Women for Change and Development Initiative", in Benin, Edo State. She was accompanied by national and state leaders of the party. They were chosen from different support groups across the state turning out for event as early as 9am in the morning. 

Stowaway Dies in Undercarriage Compartment of an Arik Air Aircraft

A suspected stowaway died today after trying a self smuggle with Arik air. The suspect is reported to have died at the undercarriage compartment of the aircraft labelled airbus A345, Reg CS-TFX at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos .

The Federal Airport Authority of Nigerian (FAAN), disclosing this development to newsmen, General Manager, Public Affairs FAAN, Mr. Yakubu Dati said that the corpse, whose identity was yet to be disclosed, has been deposited at an undisclosed mortuary, following due follow-up by the relevant Aviation and Security agencies.

Bomb Blast Rocks Internally Displaced Persons Camp in Maiduguri

Yerwa Government Secondary School at Bama in Maiduguri, Borno state being the venue for the  "Internally Displaced Persons camp" was today hit by a twin explosions. 

The incident took place at about 6:15pm shaking many houses and structures around Maduganari ward, Ramat Polytechnic institute and other nearby communities. Just last Saturday, multiple explosions rocked different locations including two major markets and motor parks in the metropolis living over 100 people dead with scores injured.

NDLEA Seize Drugs Worth N364m... Calls It The Largest Seizure In Ondo Ever!

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Thursday seized huge kilogrammes of Cannabis sativa in a warehouse in Akure, being the largest single haul since the establishment of the agency’s Command in Ondo State.

In a statement on Friday, the NDLEA said prompt action was acted upon a tip-off on suspicious activities at the Shagari Housing Estate in the state capital. “The total weight of the seized drug is 34,030kg with an estimated street value of 364 million naira,” the agency said in a statement.

Ibrahim Abdul, NDLEA Ondo State commander, described the seizure as “massive”.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command on Tuesday arrested a 60-year-old pastor who is known as a traditional healer "Mr. Udo Job" for raping a 14-year-old daughter of one of his patients. The girl came to visit her sick father when the man sexually assaulted her. 

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Gabriel Achong, who was represented by the Assistant Commissioner of Police "Mike Okoli" said the pastor sent the girl’s mother to the market and lured her into his room and forcibly had his way with her. Adding to this, Punch said that parading a number of other rape suspects, the police also brought before journalists 11 secondary school students who gang-raped a 19-year-old girl in an open market at Esit Eket. 

MEDICAL RECORD: 21-year-old South African Man Gets World's First Successful Penis Transplant

The world's first successful penis transplant has been done by a surgical team in South Africa. And its lucky recipient is a 21-year-old man whose identity is being protected.

BBC reports that the man had lost his penis in a bungled circumcision. He was 18 and already sexually active when he had the circumcision that was part of the transition from boyhood to adulthood in parts of South Africa. Unfortunately, the boy was left with just 1cm of his original penis.

VIDEO: Gov. Fashola Blames Success of Yesterday's Lekki Robbery On Pres. Jonathan's Visit

In regards to the robbery of yesterday, Lagos state Governor Babatunde Fashola says President Jonathan's visit to the state that very yesterday was the reason why the robbery attack in Lekki Phase1 was successful.

According to him, all the vehicles the state government bought to patrol the state was stationed to protect the President on arrival. He said this during the Buhari meet the Entertainers Programme in Lagos yesterday 12th March.

"Today is a very sad day because this afternoon we lost three policemen to the robbery in Lekki and it was the first of its kind in a long time. And I also know as they say {that perhaps what will be would have been} but it was sad to see all our security vehicles deployed to protect one man.  

All the vehicles we bought for the police were stationed to receive the President in Lagos while the citizens were left vulnerable. Those policemen have children. Their mothers will be made to explain to them why daddy is not coming home. May their souls rest in peace" he said.

FIGHTING PIRACY: AY Makun Says NCC Demanding Bribe From Him

Oh mine!! Comedian Ayo Makun popularly know as "AY" has made it known that some officials of the Nigerian Copyrights Commission "NCC" are demanding bribe from him before they can help in arresting pirates of his 30 Days in Atlanta movie.

 His work has been pirated and are presently on the streets making him run at loss. An upset AY who spoke out his grievance on the telephone during a radio programme "City BON Box Office" said;

“I have called NCC and some of their officials are asking for mobilization fee in other to arrest the pirates and I wonder what is going on if a government parastatal is demanding for money to do their duties,” he stated.

FIFA Expels Zimbabwe From The 2018 World Cup For Failing To Pay Coach

Zimbabwe has a country has been expelled from the 2018 World Cup due to their failure to pay the former coach Jose Claudinei Georgini. Football's world governing body Fifa said in a statement it had taken the action "as a result of the non-payment of an outstanding debt".

The governing body also added that Zimbabwe's Football Association (Zifa) has failed to make the payments despite a grace period given to them, hence the reason for their suspension. Wow!! see discipline in football.

ISIS has Accepted Boko Haram's Pledge of Allegiance

In an audio message supposedly from an ISIS spokesman, the group announced that a pledge of allegiance from Nigerian-based Boko Haram has been accepted by ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

The 28-minute message, according to CNN, was posted online by ISIS supporters. And it says that:

  The caliphate or Islamic State has expanded to western Africa and so we congratulate our jihadi brothers there.“We announce to you the good news of the expansion of the caliphate to West Africa because the caliph… has accepted the allegiance of  our brothers of the Sunni group for preaching the jihad,” 

IS spokesman "Mohammed al-Adnani" said in the message, using the Arabic name of the Nigerian terror group. "Abu Mohammed al Adnani" encouraged people to join fighters in Africa if they cannot make it to Iraq or Syria.

I think some people aren't seeing any good from the famous native rapper afterall... smiles! They think Olamide is a bad role model for smoking and drinking everywhere and even to the extent that he doesn't even hide that anymore in his videos. Olamide made a post in that regard. Surprisely, almost immediately he posted some of his fans came after him, calling him out for being a bad role model, for smoking in the photo and indicating he has been drinking.

Olamide who was however upset over their comments went ahead and made another post asking them to go ahead and correct their family members who smoke and drink first before correcting him and ended the warning with, no disrespect.

Four people were killed yesterday after a gang of armed robbers invaded the branch of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) at Plot B, Waterfront Plaza, Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos state.

According to a witness, the four people were said to be three police escorts of a passing civilian Coaster bus and a fish seller. The robbers, numbering at least 12, had arrived a few minutes before 5pm via a boat and immediately began firing gunshots into the air in an operation that lasted not less than 25 minutes.

Okagbare Slams Jonathan’s Campaign Group For Using Her Image To Campaign

Retiring athlete "Blessing Okagbare" has spoken out against the use of her image and footage by a body said to be working for President Goodluck Jonathan who is also the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, without seeking her consent.

The advertorial by GoodHouse Nigeria tagged GEJ Okagbare, which has been running on various electronic media in Nigeria and also on Youtube, the athlete said it was wrong for anyone to 
use her image or footage for a presidential campaign without seeking her approval. The PUNCH comfirmed one of such videos on YouTube which expressively had the Commonwealth Games gold medallist in action. The video details achievements made by the government especially around the Nigerian railway system.

Three Covenant University Students Expelled Over Live Sex Unclad Video

Three students of the Bishop David Oyedepo-owned Covenant University have been expelled over sex-related activities. 

According to City People, a 400-level boy and his 300-level girlfriend were expelled for “sex-alcohol Unclad video on their phones” at Camp House in the university. Also a computer science student who was until today a postgraduate student in the university was expelled.

He was cam-recorded having sex with a 100-level girl in an office in College of Development Studies(CDS) which was discovered to have a CCTV in the university. He is said to be the first M.Sc student to be expelled in the history of Covenant University.

Oops! Cleric Busted for Tapping on Neighbour's Generator

A cleric by the name "Saheed Momodu" and his neighbour "Hammed Adebayo" have been arrested by the Nigerian police over the allegation of conniving illegally to tap the electricity from the generating set of a of a fellow neighbor; Tunde by name.

Punch reported that the two men had actually been in the act for months before they were discovered by Tunde recently. Momodu and Tunde were initially disconnected for non-payment of their electricity bills for one year.

Can you blame them? If only we had steady power supply... that is not an excuse anyway! smiles.

The complainant, Barr. James Ibor, the Principal Counsel of Basic Rights Council Initiative (BRCI), a child rights advocate group, told the police that he received a complain from an undisclosed person that the Alvan and his wife were in the habit of physically and emotionally abusing their son constantly, giving him various human treatments such as tying him to a chair, using electric cable on him and consistently yelling at the boy, this is so bad.

Wole Soyinka Attacks Patience Jonathan Again in New Speech

The eminent playwright  "Wole Soyinka" has criticized madam Patience onces again for the use of what he terms crude and vulgar language in her recent comments.. The Nobel laureate writer made the comments on Tuesday, March 10, in Lagos during the public presentation of a book titled “Modern and Tradition Elite in the Politics of Lagos” written by Ambassador Patrick Dele Cole.

Professor Soyinka accused the Presidency of taking a prominent part in the crudeness using a recent statement attributed to First Lady, Patience Jonathan as an example.

Kaduna Denies Buhari Access to Rally Venue – APC

The APC party made it known that in preparation of their rally in Kaduna state, the Kaduna State government denied the party’s presidential candidate, Maj. Gen Muhammmadu Buhari (retd.), access to the Muritala Mohammed Square, Kaduna, for his North-West zonal rally ahead of the rescheduled March 28 and April 11 general elections.

The preparation for the rally, which is expected to hold today (Wednesday), had reached an advanced stage when the information was brought to the zonal office that the state had refused the party the permit to use the venue, PUNCH reports.

“The PDP is in a tense state already as they are simply afraid of the popularity strength of the APC in the state and indeed the northern part of the state,” a party official, who wants his name undisclosed, said....
