"AERO CONTRACTORS" Airline decided to refund us the pay for our tickets due to scarcity of aviation fuel. I had an important appearance to meet up with last night in Benin so i decided to hire a car to take me to Benin since i didn't have any other alternative.

Just as we were approaching ORE in Ondo State, One of the back tires of the car bursted. The driver lost control. The picture you are seeing right now better explains d rest of d story.

Suspected members of a notorious robbery gang said to be responsible for the killings and series of robbery attacks on Apapa Road, Ebute-Metta, Lagos have been picked up. They are currently being interrogated by the police at the State Department of Criminal Investigations, Yaba, Lagos.

The latest victim of their attack was a 30-year-old railway employee, Kehinde Adebayo, who was robbed of valuable items and cash running into about N250,000 while on his way to work on April 9, 2015.

Trader Survives Boko Haram, Loses Life to Armed Robbers


A 24-year-old trader, Chinedu Eneje, who fled from the Northern part of the country in order to save his life from the onslaught of the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents, has, unfortunately, been killed by armed robbers.

Chinedu died few days after returning to the warm embrace of members of his family by bandits who laid siege to the Adani/Nsukka Expressway in Enugu State.

Famously Acquianted Nollywood Actor "Peter Bunor" Dies


The consistent old-time and very active Nollywood actor Peter Bunor has died after battling with stroke for several years.

The actor died in the early hours of yesterday, May 1st. His son, Peter Jr, who is also an actor took to Facebook to announce his passing. Also has the veteran actor complained of being abandoned by colleagues in the industry.

PHOTO: Touching Story Of A Little Boy Abandoned By Mother At a Filling Station In Lagos



The touching story of a little boy, his story leaves me so speechless. A nine-year-old boy, identified only as Kingsley, was on Thursday abandoned at a filling station at Adetola bus stop on Ijaiye Road, Agbado, Lagos State, by his mother.

It was learnt that the mother, Blessing, allegedly tortured him for greeting a neighbour. She was said to have brought the boy from Ojuelegba, where they live and dumped him at the station around 7am.

A female student of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma in Edo State faces the wrost day of her life, she was crushed to death yesterday by a tipper lorry. The unfortunate incident happened on the Uhumudumun Road in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area.

Sympathisers gathered on the scene to catch a glimpse of the body and learn more about her death. There was a gridlock, following the accident, for hours. An eyewitness said a commercial motorcycle (Okada) carrying the woman attempted to overtake another Okada.

Bomb Blast Hits Radio Station in Kogi Town Leaving Many Dead


A blast from suspected to be improvised explosives, last night Monday, killed many at Ta’o FM Radio station, located in Kuroko town of Adavi local government area in Kogi state.

The radio station, which broadcasts mostly in Egbira language, is known for its radical stance on political analysis of the people of Egbira land. The blast, according to witnesses who talked to PremiumTimes, occurred at about 7pm after sporadic gunshots which lasted for about 10 minutes were heard by people residing arround the area.

It’s Pay Back Time! Buhari Bars AIT From Covering His Programmes


Security advisers of the President-Elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari on Monday barred the television crew of the African Independent Television (AIT) from covering the activities of their principal until further notice.

It was gathered that the security team cited adverse security reports and ethical issues as reasons for taking this action. Members of the AIT crew, who were at Defence House, venue of a meeting between the President-elect and a visiting Cuban delegation, led by its Ambassador to Nigeria, were ordered to leave the premises until further notice.

Rochas Okorocha Wins Imo Governorship Election Likewise Ikpeazu of Abia State


The Governor of Imo State and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Rochas Okorocha, has been declared the winner of the Imo State Governorship election after the election was re-conducted on Saturday. He won in 20 out of the 23 LGAs in Imo; polling 31,326 votes. His total vote tally stood at 416,996 votes out of the total 806,764 votes cast in the election.

Trailing Rochas was Ihedioha of the PDP who polled 320,705 votes and Emmanuel Ihenacho of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) who came a distant third with 28,434 votes.

Obasanjo Says African Leaders are Happy over Jonathan’s Defeat


While talking to an audience at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington DC, Nigerian Ex President Olusegun Obasanjo said it plain blank that African leaders were happy over the defeat of President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 presidential election.

According to him, his checks in a number of African countries suggested they were happy over the result of the election. He referred to President Goodluck Jonathan as a moving train who was providentially stopped from collapsing Nigeria.

Aregbesola Urges Labour Leaders To Suggest Ways Of Raising Money For Payment Of Salaries


Civil servants working in Osun state of Nigeria are most concern about this, it can be re-called that for a while now  the state government under the administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola has not being able to meet up with the payment of salaries. For this reason, the Gov. has challenged labour leaders in the state to suggest how his administration could generate more funds to meet its obligations.

It will be recalled that the All Progressives Congress in the State in December, 2014 had said the allocation accruing to the state had fallen from N3.8bn per month to N1.3bn. The labour leaders have however said the government should consider the re-introduction of PTA back to schools to be able to raise little money considering that the people of Osun have been enjoying free healthcare, free education coupled with free meal for the students.

PHOTOS: Vehicle Knocks Down Motorcycle At Ikorodu Road, Kills Rider & Passenger On The Spot


Accidents hasn't being my thing these days but i just wish to share this with us all, so that we can be grateful for the gift of life yet within us. A motorcycle rider and his passenger were killed this morning at Anthony bus stop on Ikorodu road when a vehicle knocked them down on the highway.

According to an eyewitness who shared the photos, the rider and the passenger died right on the spot. It will be recalled that the Lagos State Government has warned motorcycle (okada) riders to desist from using highways as transport route. May their souls rest in peace. The exit as a result of election loss of president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan wich took place on the 28th of March has started taking it's effect on his dear wife "Patience Jonathan". The African Ladies Peace Mission has finalised the arrangement to quit her official post in the mission, an arrangement which is due for two (2) months before the expiration of her tenure in office. The African Ladies Peace Mission comprises of wives of presidents of all African countries.

Mrs. Jonathan was elected the mission’s President at its seventh summit held in Abuja in July 2012 and her tenure would have expired in July 2015 when a new president would have been elected. But because she will cease to be Nigeria’s President’s wife from May 29 when her husband will hand over power to the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, Mrs. Jonathan had summoned an emergency summit of the mission for May 15 for the purpose of electing her successor.

XENOPHOBIC: South Africa Closes Their Consulate in Lagos Over Fears of Retaliatory Attacks

                             

Following anti-Xenophobia protests in Lagos and Abuja, the South African consulate in Lagos has shut down its embassy today. The consulate was shut after dozens of Nigerians carried placards on Tuesday and protested to the South African embassy in Abuja and also to MTN head office saying the attacks on black immigrants in Durban, South Africa must stop.


The protesters, led by members of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, demanded an immediate end to the attacks and killings. They also threatened to attack South African nationals and businesses in Nigeria, if the attacks did not stop within 72 hours. This we learnt is one of the major reasons the embassy was shut down today.

XENOPHOBIA: MTN Nigeria Warns 6,000 Nigerians Will Lose Jobs if They are Attacked


Hours after two groups protested in its Abuja and Benin offices against the violent killing of foreigners in its home country, South Africa, MTN Nigeria on Monday warned that should there be attacks on its facilities, it might be forced to close shop. And 99 per cent of its over 6,000 workforce in the country, who are Nigerians, would be thrown into the labour market.

According to the Corporate Service Executive, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Wale Goodluck, there are only 12 expatriates working for the company in the country, compared to a workforce of 6,000 Nigerians. It also said that calls for the boycott of its services were unjustified as such an action would affect its
support chain, which could cause another 500,000 Nigerians to lose their means of livelihood.

No Work, Schools Shutdown In Ekiti, As Fayose Calls On Okada Riders, Drivers To Help Defend His Mandate


Pupils in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital, were sent back home Monday morning and civil servants stayed away from the State Secretariat for fear of being caught in a potential outbreak of violence following the call by Governor Ayodele Fayose to Okada riders and drivers to rise up and help him protect his mandate.

Nineteen lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress have initiated impeachment proceedings against him and have requested the state chief judge to raise a panel to probe the governor.

XENOPHOBIA: Human Rights Group Barricade MTN Office in Edo, Threaten to Shut Down South African Businesses in Nigeria


Human Rights group under the aegis of "The Flagship" today barricaded the MTN office in Benin city, Edo state during a protest over the current Xenophobic attacks in South Africa. Likewise the anti-Xenophobia protest outside South Africa High Commission in Abuja today.

A number of groups held peaceful demonstrations outside the South African High Commission in Abuja today to protest the xenophobic attacks against foreigners living in SA, including Nigerians. After comments by a number of protest leaders, the group handed over a communique to a representative of the high commission and left peacefully. See photo below this report.

Robbers Invade Pres. Jonathan’s Aide’ Home... Cart Away With Undisclosed Amount Of Money


Unidentified gunmen on Saturday forcefully gained entrance the home of the Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Domestic Matters, Mr. Waripamowei Dudafa, and carted away an undisclosed amount of money after destroying the safe kept in one of his rooms.

It was learnt that the gunmen, about 10 in number, were dressed in police uniform. They were said to have robbed his residence in Okaka Estate, Yenagoa, around 8pm. It was learnt that when the robbers came, the three policemen guarding the residence of the Presidential aide were indisposed.

Nigerians Living in Durban South Africa Vows to Fight Back


A group of Nigerians living in Mahatma Gandhi Road in Durban have vowed to defend themselves if attacked by the locals.

Solomon Okoro, (a 31year old man) according to iol.co.za, said they have been receiving threatening messages but were alert and prepared for any trouble if police are not willing to protect them. He said they would have guns, knives and bottles ready. Okoro said they have no choice but to defend themselves if under attack.

“It is not like we do not know how to fight. It would not be a good thing because this is not our country, we are not here to fight. Also local people are our friends, we eat and drink together. Those fighting are racist – they cannot live side by side with other Africans. We (did) a lot for this country during apartheid. But now that everything is hunky dory we are being attacked… This is a slap of hypocrisy,” he said.

Aso Rock Describes N2trillion Election Funds Story as “Mischievous, False and Wrongheaded”


The presidency has exposed today's front-page story on the Sunday Punch that said Pres. Jonathan spent a whopping N2 trillion on the 2015 General elections, and that a committee of five has been set up by President Jonathan to conduct an audit of how the funds were payed out by party members and state officials.

In an interview with state house correspondents, the president’s spokesman, Reuben Abati, described the report as “mischievous, false and embarrassing. It was just to paint Mr president and his party bad to the people; the handiwork our its opposition.. he said".

Ababti continued saying... “The President has not set up any committee as alleged in that story. It is also not true that the Presidency and the Peoples Democratic Party used state funds, or spent N2 trillion during the campaigns. The innuendoes are wrong-headed; the motives behind the story are suspicious.

A 10-year-old girl, Chidinma, has been admitted at an undisclosed hospital after a couple – Eucheria Chukwuma and Jerry Oko-Oboh – allegedly beat her up and stabbed her in the private parts with a broken bottle.

It was learnt that the couple and the victim’s family lived on Joshua Street, Agbabiaka, in the Ajangbadi area of Lagos. And that the couple assaulted the minor for allegedly fiddling with the vagina of their three-year-old daughter, Peace.

Orubebe Denies Involvement in Plot to Kidnap Jega - "So Shocking To Hear.. He Says''


The former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, has denied being a part in the alleged plot to kidnap the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega at the presidential results collation centre in Abuja.

Reports had claimed that Orubebe’s protest against the abandonment of his petition against underage voting in the North among other complaints against Prof Attahiru Jega was a deliberate action by him to cause confusion at the presidential result collation centre to pave way for Jega’s abduction and trigger national violence.


Grant Presidential Pardon To Ibori, Ijaw Group Urges Jonathan


An Ijaw group, the Ijaw People’s Development Initiative, IPDI, in Delta State, last weekend, called on President Godluck Jonathan to grant presidential pardon to the former governor of the state, Chief James Ibori, before his exit from Aso Villa, next month.

National President the group, Mr. Austin Ozobo, in interactive with newsmen, said:
“Chief Ibori has suffered enough and there is no justification for not granting him mercy, as had been done to others.”
