Following anti-Xenophobia protests in Lagos and Abuja, the South African consulate in Lagos has shut down its embassy today. The consulate was shut after dozens of Nigerians carried placards on Tuesday and protested to the South African embassy in Abuja and also to MTN head office saying the attacks on black immigrants in Durban, South Africa must stop.

The protesters, led by members of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, demanded an immediate end to the attacks and killings. XENOPHOBIA: MTN Nigeria Warns 6,000 Nigerians Will Lose Jobs if They are Attacked

Hours after two groups protested in its Abuja and Benin offices against the violent killing of foreigners in its home country, South Africa, MTN Nigeria on Monday warned that should there be attacks on its facilities, it might be forced to close shop. And 99 per cent of its over 6,000 workforce in the country, who are Nigerians, would be thrown into the labour market.

According to the Corporate Service Executive, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Wale Goodluck, there are only 12 expatriates working for the company in the country, compared to a workforce of 6,000 Nigerians. It also said that calls for the boycott of its services were unjustified as such an action would affect its
support chain, which could cause another 500,000 Nigerians to lose their means of livelihood.

Nigerians Living in Durban South Africa Vows to Fight Back

A group of Nigerians living in Mahatma Gandhi Road in Durban have vowed to defend themselves if attacked by the locals.

Solomon Okoro, (a 31year old man) according to iol.co.za, said they have been receiving threatening messages but were alert and prepared for any trouble if police are not willing to protect them. He said they would have guns, knives and bottles ready. Okoro said they have no choice but to defend themselves if under attack.

“It is not like we do not know how to fight. It would not be a good thing because this is not our country, we are not here to fight. Also local people are our friends, we eat and drink together. Those fighting are racist – they cannot live side by side with other Africans. We (did) a lot for this country during apartheid. But now that everything is hunky dory we are being attacked… This is a slap of hypocrisy,” he said.

Terrifying Photos Reveal the Horror of What's Really Happening in South Africa #Xenophobia

At least five people have been killed over the past two weeks since local vigilantes in South Africa started looting and attacking shops owned by immigrants mainly from other parts of Africa

In Johannesburg, Malawian immigrant Samuel Idrssa described how his friend was stabbed and set on fire by a mob. ‘We wanted to rescue him but there were too many of them,’ he said. ‘It was shocking.’ ‘We have all left our homes. Those affected are those of us who live in poor townships because we live with poor South Africans who do not have jobs.’

Violence flared days after Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini said in remarks that foreigners should 'take their bags and go'. And pictures below capture the horror of what's currently happening in the country.

Addressing parliament in Cape Town on Thursday, President Zuma had reiterated his condemnation of the violence, calling it a 'violation' of South Africa's values. No amount of frustration or anger can ever justify the attacks on foreign nationals and the looting of their shops,' he said. 'We condemn the violence in the strongest possible terms. The attacks violate all the values that South Africa embodies.' See Disturbing Photos below:

VIDEO: South African King Zwelithini Caught on Tape Saying Foreigners Must Pack up and Leave

We have all seen the havoc coming from South Africa since the violent xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals especially the blacks. It turns out that way before the attacks, three weeks ago back in March, Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini was recorded saying that foreigners must pack up and leave the country.

In the presence of both Police Minister Nathi Nhleko and provincial MEC Willies Mchunu, the king was reported to have told a gathering that it was time foreigners were made to return to their countries. The king accused them of messing up the country’s towns by hanging their fake clothing brands on the streets.
