READ: President Jonathan Addresses The Nation Ahead of Tomorrow's Election.

As Nigeria returns to the polls again tomorrow, I urge all registered voters to come out in mass and exercise their civic duty/civil right to vote.

I have instructed our security agents to fully facilitate the right of Nigerians to choose leaders of their choice at various state and local assembly levels by putting away devotion to a particular party or group but ensuring that we all vote in a secure environment. It is the sacrifice and mandate of our security agents to secure our nation, so we can all be confident to come out and vote our conscience all over the federation.

I urge contestants to respect the will of the people as we promote a new Nigeria that is a pacesetter and light bearer in the practice of democratic politics without bitterness.
 May God bless Nigeria.

President Goodluck Ebere Jonathan

Although some people have expressed mixed feelings about the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), I urge those who may feel aggrieved to follow due process based on our constitution and our electoral laws, in seeking restitution.

Obasanjo Warns Against Rumoured Plan To Hand Over To Military

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday, raised alarm of a rumour that the Goodluck Jonathan administration planned to hand over to the military if he loses in Saturday’s presidential election, warning that this would undermine the integrity of Nigeria among the mutual civility of nations. Here’s what he said while hosting the South West women of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by Mrs Aisha Buhari.

“I do hope we will get things more right at this point in time. A lot of rumours are flying around, I think we have done away from the rumour of Interim Government because that is not in our constitution. I hope we will soon go away from the rumour of handing over to the military because the military is not meant to run affairs of a nation in terms of running a government.
