University of Maiduguri Set to Resume Despite Boko Haram Threats


University of Maiduguri staff and students have been asked to return to school on March 2 for the second semester of its 2014/2015 academic session despite the dread and security threat posed by boko haram set.

The institutions Chief Information Officer, Malam Ahmed Mohammed, said academic activities will start in promptly as scheduled as the announced date stipulated in the school's calendar.

"This is to inform all students, parents, guardians and staff that the University of Maiduguri will re-open for the 2nd semester, 2014/2015 session on Monday March 2, 2015 as contained in the university's calendar,"



"Accordingly, lectures will resume on the same day while examinations for the will begin on June 22, 2015."

The Nigerian Army has in recent weeks repulsed several hardiness attempts to take over the capital city, Maiduguri. Also, yesterday, a suicide attack carried out by a female suicide bomber left at least seven people dead in Biu town of Borno state.
