NBC Releases List of Media Stations that Breached Broadcasting Code

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) on Monday released the list of broadcasting stations who has failed to comply with the provisions of the Nigeria Broadcasting code from the beginning of electioneering campaign to date.

A statement signed by the commission’s Director/Head, Public Affairs, Alhaji Awwalu Salihu, in Abuja, said the disputes included breaches of the rules on the broadcast of sponsored campaign materials. Other breaches were the airing of campaign materials or programmes that promoted political parties or candidates within the 24-hour prohibited period, as well as unauthorised networking by some stations within the country. Sambo Visits Lagos, Tells People, Don’t Vote For A Man With No Certificate

Vice president of Nigeria, Namadi Smabo on Thursday during a meeting with the Arewa community in Lagos at the old parliament building in Tafawa Balewa Square, urged Lagosisans not to vote for  man with no certificate tomorrow at the polling booth.

Wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, has warned women against voting for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, saying the retired soldier was planning to build prisons if elected into power.

Speaking at a rally organised by the women wing of the Peoples Democratic Party, in Akure, Ondo State, on Tuesday, the President’s wife said Nigerian women should reciprocate for good the gesture of her husband, who ensured that a large number of women was appointed into political offices during his administration.

She said the APC was a dying party that thrives on the spread of romours, propaganda and lies, saying that women should not be deceived into “returning to bondage.”

This is not possible because even during his time as the military Head of State, the Supreme Military Council was made up of Christians and Muslims. Now we are in a democratic system and have both federal and state legislative bodies. Jonathan Doesn’t Deserve North’s Votes After Wife Abused Northerners - Aisha Buhari

The wife of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Aisha Buhari, has condemned the repeated bashing of the North by the wife of President Goodluck Jonathan. Patience Jonathan allegedly described the region as an enclave of beggars and unwanted children, according to Premium Times.

Mrs. Buhari said the description coming from someone who ironically campaigns for votes in that region is an indication of a hidden agenda, adding that the people of the North should, therefore, reject both the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate.

According to Mrs Jonathan, the defection of Rivers state Deputy Governor, Tele Ikuru from APC to PDP is an indication that the opposition party is dead.

“Imagine the deputy of a whole director-general of the APC presidential campaign decamping, does that not show that the party is dead? The party is dead and buried and March 28 is its burial. The party will not live again. When you start answering old drugs, expired drugs, then you know that your death is coming closer. The way things are going, APC will soon bear Ebola.

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State have been attacked over the weekend by armed men. Some were attacked on Friday during a peaceful rally at Wike’s ward with one man having his head almost cut into two and another badly injured.

An instagram user who shared this montage of pictures displayed above, which is said to have happened in Daura, the hometown of Buhari in Katsina. Apparently, Jonathan went there to campaign for re-election and the people there hilariously began to wash their village roads after he left... I'm still laughing...

PHOTO: Thugs Threatens Lawyers And Hinder Them For Marching For Buhari In Ondo State

Hoodlums suspected to be hirelings of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday attacked and disrupted a gathering of lawyers meeting in Akure, the Ondo State capital, to support Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). 

The lawyers, who are members of “Lawyers for Change,” were organizing a campaign rally for Mr. Buhari at the time of the attack. A lawyer, Titiloye Charles, told SaharaReporters that the thugs were armed with guns and machetes, and threatened to kill the lawyers if they carried out any rally in the state.

Akwa Ibom: APC House Of Assembly Candidate Killed While Campaigning

A House of Assembly candidate in Akwa Ibom State has being killed yesterday, he is by the name "Okon Uwah" while he wascampaigning in Ward Three in the Ukanafun Local Government Area of the State.  

Uwah who was killed was also a former Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and was contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress to represent Ukanafun State Constituency, before meeting his untimely death. The State Commissioner of Police who spoke to a Punch reporter confirmed the incident and said that the Governor is angry about the killing and asked him on phone to fish out those who did such act.

"They are busy abusing me and my husband. I will not answer them" - Patience Jonathan

Mrs Dame Patience Jonathan says she will no longer be acquainted with issues that involves the opposition party in Rivers state who she described as rascals. Mrs Jonathan said they have been several abuses at herself and her husband - the president over the attack at APC rally in Okrika on Feb 17th and that she no plan of answering them. 

She said this while campaigning at the PDP women rally in Rivers state yesterday. She said;

"They are rascals and I will not respond to them. Don’t let me open my mouth to talk about all these no for good rascals. The Rivers trail of governace will not be completed until hundred (years). It will remain like that until my great grandchildren are born. We did not vote for these people. We in Rivers State voted Celestine Omehia, but these people came and took our mandate away and today they are abusing us. They don’t have respect for elders at all. They are busy abusing me and my husband. I will not answer them. In Rivers State, we respect elders but these rascals have no respect for their elders. We must vote them out in April.”

Buhari's Wife Is Only Deceiving Nigerian Women - Patience

First Lady Patience Jonathan, says Aishat Buhari, wife of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been going about deceiving Nigerian women.

According to TheCableng, the first lady said this on Tuesday when the campaign train of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) women birthed in Ilorin, capital of Kwara state.
She said... “Don’t be deceived. Don’t look at any woman that comes here; don’t listen. They are just deceiving themselves because out of the abundant of the heart, the mouth speaketh,” 

“Their husbands have said that they would not carry women along and that there is no office for the first lady but now they want to deceive Nigerian women and she has come out to say ‘My husband said it was an error’. Don’t worry, I will carry on in the traditional way. “Any woman that comes out to you, tell her to go back. Don’t let any Nigerian woman deceive you.” 

Why I Refused to Debate With Jonathan – Buhari

The Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu has said he is not ready to participate in the presidential debate with President Goodluck Jonathan. Because according to him, there is no basis for debate since the record of the PDP and Mr. Jonathan in government is of a public knowledge.

While addressing a media parley in Abuja, Gen Buhari pledged if he wins the March 28 poll, he will uphold strict adherence to the constitution, saying he is now “a converted democrat”.
“I want to assure you that Nigerian constitution will be adhered to,” he said.

I’m Not Ready to Feed Jonathan in Prison – Patience

Wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, has said she is not ready to feed her husband, President Goodluck Jonathan, in prison. The President’s wife spoke on Monday in Ado Ekiti, during a rally of the women’s wing of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Making a reference to the All Progressives Congress, she asked,

“What did they forget in Aso rock? If you vote PDP and Jonathan, it would be better for you. If you vote APC, you will go to prison. How can you jail somebody for 300 years? I’m not ready to carry food to my husband inside prison oh!”

PUNCH also reports that she openly admitted that the Office of the First Lady, which she occupies, is illegal. She, however, said there was nothing wrong in a woman supporting her husband in office. 

She said... “They said there is no Office of the First Lady. Already, we know that there is no Office of the First Lady but there is wife of the President. 

''My Husband Must Complete his Two Terms'' – Mrs. Jonathan

The wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, on Saturday insisted that her husband would remain in office for eight years to complete his two terms in office, no matter the opposition. 

PUNCH reports that Mrs. Jonathan, said this during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) women rally, under the endosement of the "Women for Change and Development Initiative", in Benin, Edo State. She was accompanied by national and state leaders of the party. They were chosen from different support groups across the state turning out for event as early as 9am in the morning. 

Kaduna Denies Buhari Access to Rally Venue – APC

The APC party made it known that in preparation of their rally in Kaduna state, the Kaduna State government denied the party’s presidential candidate, Maj. Gen Muhammmadu Buhari (retd.), access to the Muritala Mohammed Square, Kaduna, for his North-West zonal rally ahead of the rescheduled March 28 and April 11 general elections.

The preparation for the rally, which is expected to hold today (Wednesday), had reached an advanced stage when the information was brought to the zonal office that the state had refused the party the permit to use the venue, PUNCH reports.

“The PDP is in a tense state already as they are simply afraid of the popularity strength of the APC in the state and indeed the northern part of the state,” a party official, who wants his name undisclosed, said....

As anounced yesterday, President Jonathan, VP Sambo, Senate President David Mark, Minister for FCT and others took the physical training exercise (jogging) at 7am this morning as planned, they jogged towards the Eagle square where the rest of the physical training exercise is meant to take place.
