No Work, Schools Shutdown In Ekiti, As Fayose Calls On Okada Riders, Drivers To Help Defend His Mandate


Pupils in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital, were sent back home Monday morning and civil servants stayed away from the State Secretariat for fear of being caught in a potential outbreak of violence following the call by Governor Ayodele Fayose to Okada riders and drivers to rise up and help him protect his mandate.

Nineteen lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress have initiated impeachment proceedings against him and have requested the state chief judge to raise a panel to probe the governor.

We don’t know exactly who Governor Ayo Fayose is directing his plea to, may be the APC lawmakers who are bent on impeaching him, or his numerous enemies in the political world. But the Governor yesterday at a special prayer session organised for him by the Ansar-udeen Mosque, Atikankan in Ado-Ekiti to celebrate his recent electoral victory at the Supreme Court, pleaded with the opposition and others he calls his enemies to please spare their sword and let peace reign in Ekiti. Ayo Fayose Served Impeachment Notice


Legislators at Ekiti Assembly have served Governor Ayo Fayose (Ekiti state governor) an impeachment notice and have given him seven days to respond.

At least 18 members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly have agreed to commence investigations into allegations of grave misconduct against the governor. One of the legislators in Ekiti told Sahara Reporters that... “We are going to look at the allegations against Governor Fayose in a responsible manner and make our decision in line with the rule of law and the overall interest of the people of the state.”
